This year the area quiz will be held on 3rd March hosted by CFHS at Newbiggin Village Hall, Newbiggin, Penrith, CA110HT

Good luck to our members competing in the area quiz

there will be a Mini section and a Junior/Senior section, made up of teams of 4 members  

• Mini Section- Ages to be 10 years and under on the 1January of competition year, with one member to be 8 years and under. 
• Junior/Senior Section- must have two junior members ( ages to be 13 years and under )  and then two of any age up to 25.

All ages will be taken from the 1 January of the competition year. 

• Mini questions to be based on the E, D and easier parts of the D+ Efficiency Tests and Mini Badges.
• Junior/Senior questions to be based on the C, C+ and B Efficiency Tests and Achievement badges.
• Questions will be based on the new syllabuses.  
• Format of questions will be mixed of activity rounds such as memory games/Pictionary, guess what's in the bag, question/answer rounds and many more!
• Teams will move around the venue, each round will be on a different section of the quiz. 

The rounds will be as follows;

• Question rounds based on the PC / Learning Theory / Worm Control (multiple choice questions)
• Guess the item - 12 items in a bag, each member has to guess 3 of the items
• Mini team - charades
• Mini team - audio / visual game based on handling and leading
• Juniors / seniors - pictionary
• Juniors / seniors - taboo based on rugs and bandages
• Mini team word round - based on general knowledge and care of the foot
• Juniors / seniors word round based on feeding and horse parts
• Mini team identification round based on yard safety, Blue Cross mini badge and points of tack
• Juniors / seniors identification round based on shoeing, Blue Cross achievement badge, points of tack and grasses, trees and poisonous plants
